The Department of Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Nephrological, Anaesthetic and Geriatric Sciences was born in 2010 from the fusion of the departments of Respiratory and Cardiovascular Sciences, Geriatrics, Nephrology and Anesthesiology.
Today brings together more than 100 accademic between professors and researchers from different areas of teaching and research and provides health services and educational excellence in different medical areas that make up the structure.
The Department is spread over several buildings of the Policlinico Umberto I: VIII Clinic, The Medical Clinic, Nephrology, Anaesthesiology. It is part of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of Sapienza University of Rome.
It has libraries and laboratories for use by students, graduate students and research fellows for their scientific and cultural growth.
The health care activity is organized in DAI, in order to promote research of excellence in the cardiovascular, respiratory and nephrology, disorders of the elderly, science anesthetic.
The presence of specialists in areas as different as they allow the Department to address both the pure research that medical health-care with a modern approach and highly multidisciplinary.
Other facilities include advanced diagnostic tools in the study of cardiovascular diseases, respiratory and nephrology and a center Grapes for geriatric assessment of the elderly.
